Kari Lyn has spent her whole life surrounded by music and storytelling. Growing up in North Rustico, PEI, listening to the “Saturday Night Hoedown” radio station, and stories told by her “PEI Famous” Grandfather, Tommy Gallant, she was constantly inspired to share her truth through her lyrics. At 19 years old, she left home for a trip to Thailand, resulting in almost 5 years of travel, going out of her comfort zone, and experiencing everything from scuba diving, climbing active volcanos to learning new languages and cultural traditions. Inspired by these travels, she returned to PEI and wrote and released her debut album, “Hit The Ground”. To top it all off, the record was later nominated for Rock Album of the Year at the 2020 Music PEI awards. Her lyrics are shockingly truthful, retelling her life experiences, making you travel with her as you dance, cry and find your path.
Kari Lyn embodies the spirit of a cottage core rockstar, blending rustic storytelling with the edge of modern rock. Growing up on Prince Edward Island, she was shaped by family ceilidhs, kitchen parties, and the adventurous tales of her PEI famous grandfather, Tommy Gallant.
Before fully pursuing music, Kari Lyn spent five years backpacking the world, experiencing everything from scuba diving, hiking volcanoes and teaching English, but music always called her back. Her debut album, Hit the Ground (2020), reflected these experiences. Now, working with acclaimed producer Dan Hosh (Arkells, Wild Rivers), she has finally released two new singles Fall (I’m Not Ready), a song she quite literally wrote in her sleep, carving her path as a fearless, independent artist and Heavy Weight, a song about realizing to succeed, she can’t do it alone.
