Since 2014, Los Angeles based dream pop band Nightjacket have established themselves as a prominent presence in the ever-evolving indie rock scene of Southern California.
With lush soundscapes, pulsing beats, and soaring vocals, Nightjacket have received critical acclaim from various media outlets including Stereogum, SPIN, American Songwriter, Buzzbands LA, and Under the Radar, and have consistent air play on NPR affiliates such as KCRW.
Since the release of the single “Don’t Say a Word” in 2022, Nightjacket has remained in rotation on KCRW taste making program Eclectic 24 as recently as August 2024.
Known as an earnest and meticulous live band when on stage, crowds in Los Angeles have seen the band headline the beloved venues The Moroccan Lounge and Gold Diggers and played the support role to numerous international touring acts on stages ranging from Lodge Room, Zebulon, and The Echo amongst other celebrated rooms around California.
Originally formed as a passion project for guitarist/vocalist/producer Jordan Wiggins in 2014 and further anchored by the addition of multi-instrumentalist Louie Schultz in 2015, Nightjacket took on a new identity in 2019 when the band met Canadian singer/songwriter Andrea Wasse and bonded over their mutual love of dreamy alternative rock from the 80s and 90s.
The new Nightjacket lineup wrote and recorded the EP, Following The Curves, in 2021, working with long-time friend and producer Adam Lasus (Lilys,Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo) exploring new sonic avenues ranging from psychedelic Americana, to ambient alt-pop, and jangly reverberated shoegaze, paying homage to their teenage influences such as Mazzy Star, The Sundays, R.E.M. and Cocteau Twins.
Beginning a new partnership in the Spring of 2024 with the celebrated independent label Sonic Unyon, the band released the single “All of My Friends” (featured on the Apple TV+ show Dark Matter) and are putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming full length for 2025, preceded by their Fall ‘24 release of the bouncing and jubilant single, “My Only Heart.”
