May Have haven’t revealed a lot about the creation of the single, but what they did reveal is that they wanted to create a song that gave off a “calm before the storm” mood, which is evident in the keyboards at the very beginning of the song. Although, deep down ‘May Have (Misunderstood)’ is all about having difficult conversations that come with being accountable and taking responsibility for one’s actions.
